We are committed to making the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for Black and Brown communities across the nation. Our non-profit organization focuses on organizing hikes, camping trips, and various outdoor activities that promote physical wellness, mental health, and environmental stewardship. We believe in the power of community and aim to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all our members. Through our events and initiatives, we strive to break barriers, build friendships, and inspire a love for nature that transcends all boundaries. Join us on our mission to explore, connect, and thrive in the great outdoors!
I am Kenneth Felton, and I am thrilled to share my passion for the great outdoors with you. Growing up in Columbus, Georgia, I witnessed the limited opportunities for Black and Brown communities to engage with nature. This reality inspired me to create BHU, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting our communities with the transformative power of the outdoors.
Nature has always been a sanctuary for me—a place where I found peace, clarity, and inspiration. I founded BHU with the vision of making these experiences accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. At BHU, we believe that the outdoors is for everyone. Our hikes, camping trips, and outdoor activities are designed to promote physical wellness, mental health, and environmental stewardship. But more than that, we aim to build a vibrant, supportive community where individuals can grow, connect, and thrive together.
I invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to outdoor activities, there is a place for you in our BHU family. Together, we can explore the beauty of nature, build lasting connections, and create a legacy of adventure, wellness, and unity.
Warm regards,
Kenneth Felton
